West Coast Flavors

Choose Your Own Adventure Trail Mix trio

The West Coast flavors from our American Pantry are fresh and delicious. Inspired by and perfect for seafood and salads, they are reflective of health-conscious west coast habits. Don't stop at these seasonings though, many spices like Alderwood Smoked Sea Salt and Hawaiian Black Lava Sea Salt, California Basil and California Paprika herald from the West Coast too.

Coastal Cali Fennel Pollen Rub

Fennel grows wild all over California and its pollen features a bold, yet delicate anise flavor. Even people who don't love anise or fennel can enjoy a dusting of this lighter, heady spice. Our homage to this unique flavor pairs perfectly with crab and lobster, native to California, and we think these are the delicacies this blend deserves.  For the full story, read Behind the Seasoning: Coastal Cali Fennel Pollen Rub.

California Citrus Rub

Salt is a flavor enhancer, so many salt-free seasonings taste a little bit bland. Not ours! We don't just subtract salt, we create a bold, flavorful seasoning from scratch. Using citrus, garlic, and chiles add tangy, aromatic, and spicy notes to round out the flavor. Most of our salt-free blends do not have a lot of heat, but California Citrus’s crushed red pepper gives it some added zip, pushing the heat to a 3 on a scale from 1-10. With a hint of heat & a whole-lot of zing, it's ideal for chicken, fish, and veggie dishes. This seasoning is perfect for marinades and grilled dishes.

Tarragon Shallot Citrus Seasoning

Northern California and the Napa Valley have many restaurants that are inspired by the finest French cuisine, technique, and ingredients. One of the essential French sauces, béarnaise, highlights the flavors of shallots and tarragon. Thus, the inspiration for this mellow and delicious seasoning. Like béarnaise sauce, this seasoning is a delicious complement for seafood, chicken, and vegetables.
