Sunday Pot Roast Q&A
Is beef stew mix the same as pot roast?
Beef stew mix and pot roast spices can sometimes be similar in the seasonings used, but the main difference between stew and pot roast is usually in the cut & size of both the meat and the vegetables. Stew usually uses smaller chunks of meat and bite-size cut vegetables, where pot roast uses the whole roast. For a beef stew recipe, try our Hearty Guinness Beef Stew.
What spices go in pot roast?
Spices that typically go into a pot roast can include paprika, salt, celery, black pepper, cumin, garlic, onion, dill weed, dill seed, oregano, rosemary, turmeric, caraway, coriander, marjoram, thyme, parsley, Worcestershire and possibly more or other spices and herbs.
How can I add flavor to my pot roast?
To add flavor to your pot roast, make sure to use onions and a good beef broth, in addition to a quality blend of pot roast spices (like our Sunday Pot Roast mix).
Should you season pot roast before cooking?
You should always season a pot roast before cooking because it won't have much flavor without a healthy amount of good seasoning.
