This Southern Gold Barbecue Sauce marries the sweetness of tomato with the tanginess of mustard. We upped the mustard level typically found in a Texas southern gold BBQ version, and reduced the bite of a Carolina version. With the addition of tomato, this balanced southern barbecue sauce is truly versatile. A great barbecue sauce to use with sausage, brisket and ribs.

Flavor Profile

Sweet tomato is balanced by tangy mustard and vinegar and rounded out with smoke and spice notes for authentic Carolina BBQ sauce flavor.

How to Use

This all-purpose Carolina BBQ sauce is delicious on sausage, brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. Use it to make your own Carolina barbecue-inspired dressing or dip. Shake well before use. Refrigerate after opening.

Taking inspiration from his Chasing BBQ road trip, Savory Spice founder Mike Johnston brought back his favorite regional barbecue flavors to the Savory Spice Test Kitchen.
