What are the most popular spices internationally?
Globally, black pepper, mustard powder, cumin, salt and coriander are some of the most cooked spices internationally around the world. But ultimately, it depends on what international cuisine you are looking to try! As far as international spice blends go, some of our personal favorites include Taco Seasoning, Peruvian Chile Lime Seasoning, Za'atar Seasoning, Cuban Island Spice and Chinese Five Spice.
What spices blends are best for curry?
When making any curry, some of the best spices to use are turmeric, coriander, cumin, cardamom, saffron, fenugreek, lemongrass, mustard powder, ginger, chili powder, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Our personal favorite curry spice blends include our Garam Masala, Madras Curry Powder, Thai Green Curry, Cambodian Lemongrass Curry, and of course the classic, Mild Yellow Curry Powder. There are many other Curry Favorites from Around the World, so feel free to explore more curry flavors.
What spice blends are the most unique or rare?
Spices that might be considered as more rare in the U.S. could include Saffron, Asafetida, Sumac Berries, Grains of Paradise and Fennel Pollen. Spices that might be called "exotic" ultimately depends on where you're from. Seasoning blends that we consider unique to our international flavors include Chilean Merquen Seasoning, Bajan Seasoning, Berbere Ethiopian Seasoning, Vadouvan and Vindaloo.
